If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join the Earthmoving Engineering team in Peoria, IL at Caterpillar as a Design Engineer in Electrical Systems. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and stretch your engineering skills while developing electrical systems and installation designs to meet internal and external customer requirements while achieving time, cost, and quality goals for current and future motor grader product offerings. This is a great opportunity to learn how to excel at working within a cross functional team environment in Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD) at Caterpillar!

Specifically, in this role, you can expect to:

  • Lead the development of concepts and designs to meet project requirements

  • Lead the development of the electrical system and electrical schematic

  • Evaluate the performance of current production designs and identify improvement opportunities

  • Delegate and direct portions of the design to other supporting engineers

  • Select, place and mount electrical component

  • Integrate and route wiring harnesses and cables in CREO

  • Collaborate with other system teams and value stream partners to deliver optimal product

  • Conduct technical reviews to ensure robust designs

  • Develop and execute validation plans

  • Resolve New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) issues

  • Support factory and product for electrical related issues

To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum, preferably Electrical Engineering

  • Experience in electrical schematic development, electrical component integration or electrical troubleshooting required

  • Strong Microsoft O365 abilities

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Top Candidates Will Also Bring:

  • Hands-on experience with construction, or related, equipment

  • Demonstrated application of problem-solving methods

  • Experience with CREO and TeamCenter

  • Basic understanding of electrical components, L4 electrical systems, or electrical controls

  • Proven examples on dedication to achieving goal
