Description

As a communications specialist within the Integrated Components & Solutions (ICS) division at Caterpillar, you will be a trusted partner to leaders and subject matter experts who are developing innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology that is used in products across Caterpillar’s portfolio. This role will give you broad exposure to the Caterpillar teams behind emerging technologies such as autonomy, electrification, and smart manufacturing, as well as procurement. You will be part of a team of communicators who are collaborative and supportive, with a wide array of skills and a can-do spirit.

What You Will Do

• Work on both strategic communications planning and execution and manage several communications vehicles, including a newsletter, division communications and Viva Engage accounts.
• Create content for employee communications channels, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness. Materials will include written messages, presentation materials, videos and graphics.
• Track and analyze metrics to establish the effectiveness of internal communications.
• Support the Global Procurement Director and lead communications for Resource Industries Supply Management, which is focused on assurance of supply and excellence in purchasing.

Basic Qualifications

• This position requires a college or university degree with a focus on communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.
• 5 – 7 years of job-related experience is required, preferably internal communications experience at a global company.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to listen, learn and develop clear, concise and accurate messages for a variety of audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop strong relationships across the company.
• Ability to consult and advise on communication strategy, tactics and the best approach to achieve results.
• Expert at developing and implementing internal communications strategy.
• Strong project management skills and organization, with the ability to prioritize projects and requests and meet established deadlines.

Top Candidates will also have

• Strong experience with visual messaging such as graphic design and video editing.
• Knowledge of Poppulo, Adobe Experience Manager and the Office 365 suite of tools is highly desired.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, in which attention to detail and team alignment are expected.
• Experience working with global and diverse leader and employee populations.
• Experience with social media, desired but not required.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position will require less than 10% travel.
