Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Software Test Engineers at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson, Peoria IL 61630.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Software Test Engineer, will provide manual and automation testing of features and capabilities of applications and/or backend. Will perform all testing, project management, and quality assurance assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the complex aspects of systems work. Will use understanding of systems, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing as well as work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution. Will work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Will analyze business requirement to develop and execute manual and automation test cases. Will document software issues and defects in bug tracking software and monitor for the resolution. Will coordinate with product owner to resolve open issues/enhancements/upgrades and understand the use of a specific functionality as needed. Will communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Will perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a closely related field and 3 years of experience performing automation engineering and framework design/development. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience performing automation engineering and framework design/development.

Additionally, the position also requires 3 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with 1) Developing automation scripts and designing, building and validating automated test suites; 2) Maintaining and supporting deployment procedures via automation; 3) Performing functional or front-end coding in modern programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Angular or React; and 4) Performing integration with CI/CD tools (Azure Pipeline, Jenkins).
