Caterpillar, Inc. seeks Senior Engineer – Test/Validation at its facility located at 14009 Old Galena Road, Chillicothe, IL., 61523.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will be responsible for the lab testing of advanced drivetrain components and systems at the Caterpillar Tech Center. Will define validation requirements and create detailed test plans, prepare component/systems for testing, perform lab tests, troubleshoot and resolve any test stand problems, analyze test data, communicate results and make recommendations to internal clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field and 5 years of experience performing validation engineering. Position also requires 5 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) working directly with electric drive systems and/or components; defining validation requirements and performing Powertrain Test Planning; performing troubleshooting and resolution of powertrain related test stands; working directly with Data Acquisition Software (including specifically AVL Puma, DEWESoft, and LabView) and Control Software Experience using Canalyzer.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field and 7 years of experience performing validation engineering. Position also requires 5 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) working directly with electric drive systems and/or components; defining validation requirements and performing Powertrain Test Planning; performing troubleshooting and resolution of powertrain related test stands; working directly with Data Acquisition Software (including specifically AVL Puma, DEWESoft, and LabView) and Control Software Experience using Canalyzer.
