Caterpillar Inc. seeks Lead Digital Tech Support Engineers at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria IL 61630.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Will provide team leadership and oversight to digital technical operations team in order to Identify, investigate and obtain resolution commitments for all significant field issues to maintain and improve assigned digital product Issue identification. Will issue reports in all forms from customers, dealers, industry reps and subsidiaries performance. Will formally document issues and provide follow-up on the resolution process with industry and development teams. Will conduct Serviceability Audits on NPI for digital products and applications. Will provide input for setting targets for digital product and application reliability, durability and serviceability to be stated in the functional specifications. Will initiate service publications to announce significant digital product and application improvements and temporary field fix information to key dealer personnel, through appropriate communication channels. Will act as team lead for development and support groups, providing application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members including the reviews of functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements. Will assist in the transition of on-premises Cloudera Hadoop environment to AWS and implement ongoing DevOps capabilities. Will drive application development with a focus on delivering business valuable features and develops major system modules, programs or integrates infrastructure components based on requirements gathered from customers. Will perform integration testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Will be responsible for application quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity of solutions built. Will develop and maintain application metrics to create reports/dashboards to drive business objectives and to improve data reliability and quality. Will maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habit. Will guide the team to develop a structured application/interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in a casual, flexible environment. Will communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 5 years of progressive experience performing design, coding, testing and implementation of software solutions and applications.
In the alternative, Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 3 years of progressive experience performing design, coding, testing and implementation of software solutions and applications.
Position also requires 3 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with: (1) Software requirements gathering and analysis; (2) Performing mainframe software systems migration; (3) Coordinating and guiding the installation and implementation of software systems on Hadoop; and (4) Working with the full software development lifecycle using software technologies such as SQL, Java, J2EE, Hadoop and Shell Scripting.
