Caterpillar Inc. seeks Sr. Software Engineers at its facility located at 510 SW Jefferson Ave., Peoria, IL 61630.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will program, manage projects and development assignments, Will work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution. Will work on infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Will drive application development focused around business needs. Will guide the development of a structured application/interface code, new program/operations documentation. Will direct the development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Will performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of progressive experience related to development on object-oriented and function programming languages (Python, Java, or Scala).

Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and 2 years of progressive experience related to development on object-oriented and function programming languages (Python, Java, or Scala).

Position also requires 2 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) (1) performing development in Big Data Technologies (Hadoop/Spark); (2) data integration development experience; (3) experience building DevOps CICD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jira and Jenkins; and (4) experience with software tools and technologies, including AWS, Lambda, EMRC, and SQS/SNS.
