Multiple openings, Caterpillar Inc. seeks Sr Engineers-PERF/SIM/APP at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Dr., Chillicothe, IL 61523.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will serve as a senior engineer in a team developing embedded machine software utilizing model-based & C++ software to solve complex global positioning solutions, global technical problems, and create critical components and systems. Will perform software simulations to analyze & improve state estimation performance. Will develop and debug state estimation and kinematics SW for machine systems. Will assist in planning and delivery of projects, staying abreast of innovative technology, and mentoring team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Master’s degree or (equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and 2 years of progressively responsible experience performing software programming and developing embedded machine software.

Alternatively will accept Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of progressive experience performing software programming and developing embedded machine software.

Additionally, the applicant must have 2 years of experience with: 1. Performing software simulations; 2. Debugging and development; 3. Using C++ software to solve complex solutions; and 4. Direct working experience with software tools and technologies, including specifically Simulink, and MATLAB.
