Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Sr. IT Analyst – Applications at its facility located at 812 W Washington St., East Peoria, IL 61630.
JOB DUTIES:
Will serve as a Technical Lead with responsibility for understanding all components required to provide the needed business functionality and manage the Datastage and Snaplogic development stacks; will provide application and technical leadership in the development of detailed system specifications for major business systems and development, integration and implementation projects; will provide interface with the managed service provider’s technical leads and help drive improvements to reduce cost and/or bring new value to Caterpillar; will act as a Level 4 Subject Matter expert to help resolve issues and be an escalation point for technical issues from the managed service provides; will understand new product capabilities and help drive the implementation and usage; will participate in Problem Management activities; will complete all BRP / BCP activities with the managed service provider, as needed, to achieve GIS’s goals; will provide insights for continuous improvement and participate on projects as needed; will review and approve technical decisions from development teams; will identify risks in technologies and work with Managed Service Provider and Demand Manager to implement recommended actions to mitigate; will participate in consultant led projects to drive continuous improvement, as Caterpillar deems necessary; will work with Technical Leads and business partners to understand and execute availability and Performance in environments (Test, QA, Pre-Prod, Prod); will identify, understand and remediate the impacts of enterprise changes to the environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Masters degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field and 5 years of progressive experience performing high-level data analysis and database administration. Position also requires 5 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) (1) performing implementation and integration tasks for complex developed systems and software solutions; (2) driving technical process improvements to lower costs; (3) translating business and functional requirements to technical requirements and specifications; (4) performing regression and integration testing of Datastage development stacks; (5) working with and creating Data Architect technical specification documents for extraction, transformation, cleansing and load (ETL) programs; and (6) direct database administration experience including specifically working with Dataspace and Snaplogic.
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field and 7 years of progressive experience performing high-level data analysis and database administration. Position also requires 5 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) (1) performing implementation and integration tasks for complex developed systems and software solutions; (2) driving technical process improvements to lower costs; (3) translating business and functional requirements to technical requirements and specifications; (4) performing regression and integration testing of Datastage development stacks; (5) working with and creating Data Architect technical specification documents for extraction, transformation, cleansing and load (ETL) programs; and (6) direct database administration experience including specifically working with Dataspace and Snaplogic.
