We are seeking a Human Rights Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of Caterpillar Inc’s Corporate Human Rights activities, implement our strategies, and ensure compliance with global human rights standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and implement strategies for all activities relating to one or more business units regarding compliant human rights standards.
  • Oversee development of relevant programs to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of Our Values In Action, including corporate policies and procedures to assigned business unit or units.
  • Identify potential human rights risk and compliance vulnerabilities, developing corresponding corrective action plans for resolution of these issues and providing guidance for use in future situations.
  • Provide support to business units requiring assistance completing human rights inquiries, media questions, reports, NPI questionnaires, etc. relating to human rights.
  • Analyze internal and external human rights complaints and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Support Investor Relations responding to shareholder questions, concerns and resolutions

What You Have:

  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to human rights risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of human rights risk management appropriately to diverse situations. Uses experience assisting in the development of human rights policy and strategy
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way
  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current human rights standards and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, policies, regulatory requirements and services
  • Audit and Compliance Function : Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks involving human rights supplier and customer audits and compliance areas; ability to provide support and assistance with coordinating supplier and customer audits in various business environment

Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

  • The primary locations for this position are Irving, TX or Peoria, IL

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
