Overview
Responsibilities
Monitors and coordinates regulatory services in MAR, CORS, and Naloxone Distribution
- Develops and maintains work schedule for staff as needed.
- Monitors admission and discharge process.
- Is knowledgeable of and capable of utilizing and monitoring therapeutic interventions with clients who present a dual problem, mental illness/substance abuse.
- Supervises implementation of Carle Health Standards of Excellence by clinical and nursing staff.
- Makes recommendations concerning policy and procedure.
- Supervises the initiation of standardized protocols for clinical care where indicated.
- Ensures that patient/client treatment care plans, where applicable, are individualized.
- Ensures that procedures and treatment occur according to regulations, policy and procedures with attention given to age specific care and dual diagnosis care.
- Identifies and documents response to supervision.
- Provides education to employees regarding operations and regulatory compliance
- Makes recommendation to Director about just culture matrix.
- Will complete employee evaluations in a timely manner
- Will follow all Federal Regulations and is responsible for regulatory inspections – keeping all records in accordance with SUPR, The Joint Commission, SAMHSA, and DEA under direct guidance of Director.
- Facilitate regulatory audits, visits.
- Is knowledgeable of programs used at the MAR clinic, Methasoft and EMR
- Conducts all audits as required by regulatory and compliance organizations.
Maintains effective communication and teamwork style with coworkers, other departments, other health care providers and the community.
- Actively maintains open communication & demonstrates a cooperative, teamwork style with patients, significant others, other staff members, other healthcare workers, medical staff and community. This is demonstrated through assisting staff as needed, providing back-up group counseling or informal counseling, making recommendations of policy and procedure updates/improvements, providing patient/ community education, answering phones correctly, etc.
- Attends and facilitates multi-disciplinary staffing.
- Maintains computer proficiency so that communications will be done in a correct manner. Stays abreast of Health IT updates and changes in regard to computer generated treatment plans.
- Demonstrates organizational abilities through correct prioritization of duties, efficient and appropriate usage of time, and effective utilization of support personnel.
- Maintain communication with DEA and Opiate Authority.
- Will assist in the development and implementation of educational programs regarding MAR.
- Will make recommendations to the Director regarding the development of in-services and workshops deemed necessary to keep clinical and nursing staff updated regarding treatment approaches.
Clinical competency and professional development is maintained according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Attends and facilitates all on site staff meetings, unless due to illness, vacation, or supervisor approval.
- Attends all equipment/technique training as needed.
- Stays currant in their certifications and/or licenses
- Reflects UPH’s Standards of Excellence by his or her services and activities.
- Adheres to Social Work Code of Ethics or IAODAPCA Code of Ethics
- Completes all mandatory education and testing. All tests must have a 70% correct or more score to demonstrate competence (unless a specific score other than 70% is indicated).
- Participates in ongoing training as offered and mandated by UPH, regulatory bodies.
- Performs various departmental duties consistent with the Mission of Carle Health.
- Must maintain CPI and CPR
Qualifications
Certifications:
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months
One of the following:
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR);
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR);
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR),
- Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC) - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
Education: Bachelor's Degree; College Diploma: Nursing; Master's Degree: Social Science
Work Experience: 1-3 years working in the field of Addiction or Behavioral Health
