Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:Must be enrolled as a student at Methodist College.
To provide assistance to the Clinical Skills Coordinator, Assistant of Simulation, Director of Simulation, faculty, and the students in both the Simulation Center and Clinical Practice Center (CPC). Prepares stations for scheduled skill modules.Ensures that each station has sufficient equipment and supplies for students to complete assigned skills or scenarios.Assists students by reviewing skills, scenarios, appropriate videos and checklists.Reviews and prepares for upcoming guided practices with the Clinical Skills Coordinator.Monitors the disposable supplies usage and reports low supplies to the Simulation/CPC staff.Cleans and restocks non-disposable supplies.Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and security of the Simulation Center/CPC.Performs self-scheduling and coordinates with other student workers to ensure regular lab hours are maintained.Implements approved process/policy for checking borrowed lab equipment in and out.Provides routine maintenance of manikins.Assists with orientation of new student workers.Maintains professionalism and confidentiality.Promotes a positive image of the College to internal and external consumers.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- N2314 or N2416 should be completed. At least one clinical nursing course should be completed before working in the CPC/SIM center.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to use all the functions of the computer, send and receive e-mail, and perform basic computer tasks with instruction and comfortable with learning new applications.Must have effective oral and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively and courteously with culturally diverse groups.Proficient using the internet and Microsoft Office products.
