Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:Security Officers provide assistance to and assure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. Officers also protect the property of the Medical Center, and perform other functions as assigned or required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
H.S. Diploma/GED required.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
State of Illinois Driver's License upon hire. Motor Vehicle Report is ran annually.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification is required within 3 months of hire.
CPR is required within 3 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 3 months of hire.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health facilities/hospitals.

Patrols Medical Center buildings and property.

Gathers all pertinent information to make decisions.

Maintains knowledge of Carle Health and Security Department operations.
Utilizes CPI methods as team member to control aggressive or violent patients and visitors.
Effectively monitors Security and fire alarm.
Responds to stats, disasters and codes following policies and procedures.
Monitors and responds to access controls, panic alarms, fire computer and alarms, intercoms and CCTV monitors.
Acknowledges incoming Security calls or alarms and dispatches Security officers to the appropriate locations.
Maintains and enhances their knowledge and capabilities during emergency and non-emergency situations, performing multiple duties rapidly, calmly, and effectively to achieve the responses needed.
Keeps abreast on all call disasters and security policies.
Contacts appropriate personnel for all codes, disasters and stats.
