Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor position in management information systems to start in August 2027. The successful candidate is expected to teach, conduct scholarly research, mentor students, and contribute service to the university and community.

The Department of Management Information Systems is housed within the Foster College of Business. We are a committed, student-centered program located in Central Illinois that prioritizes accessible undergraduate management information systems education, effective teaching pedagogy, and dedication to an inclusive learning environment.

The undergraduate cybersecurity program consists of a dedicated major, a concentration within the management information systems major, and a cybersecurity minor. The Center for Cybersecurity at Bradley University, which is housed within the Foster College of Business, obtained the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designation from the National Security Agency in 2023.

The cybersecurity program is known for its unique capstone course, which allows undergraduate students to perform a full-scale security assessment for a local small business client while serving as members of the Bradley Red Team. The department is currently developing a CyberAI minor which will require a new course on the application of artificial intelligence for both offensive and defensive cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

We seek applicants with teaching and research interests related to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and/or business analytics. The position would teach a 3/3 load in the MIS programs. A course release will be provided for the first two years. The position would require that the faculty member assist with future course and program design. Commitment to and evidence of outstanding teaching, significant publication potential and a focused research agenda are required. Faculty are expected to collaborate with colleagues in the department and across campus on research and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in information systems or a related field is required. Candidates near completion prior to the start date will be considered.
  • The primary field of teaching and research specialization will be cybersecurity. Ideal candidates would have experience teaching cybersecurity, analytics, artificial intelligence, and/or statistics courses.
  • Applicants must understand, and commit to, creating an inclusive environment and the ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
