Applications are invited for a tenure track lecturer and Director of the Mathematics Success Center position beginning Fall 2026.
Duties include serving as the coordinator of the mathematics portion of Bradley University's Academic Success Center, teaching foundational mathematics courses (face-to-face and online), data analysis, and providing collaborative support in math pedagogy for math faculty and all faculty who teach courses that emphasize quantitative reasoning.
Director responsibilities include the following:
1. Collaborate with the Mathematics Department, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Admissions, and the Provost's Office to increase math success and student retention university wide
2. Develop and implement professional development opportunities focused on math success and student retention for faculty and staff
3. Develop math success programs and math tutor training aligned with best practices
4. Evaluate data on effectiveness of Center programs, student success in mathematics courses, retention, and other metrics
5. Provide actionable recommendations towards meeting Center goals aligned with the University Strategic Plan
6. Promote and develop online/hybrid Center resources as appropriate
7. Oversee the year-round operations of the Center including: onboarding first-year and transfer students, budgeting, integration of third-party platforms (e.g. Navigate360, ALEKS), website content, and collaboration with other University offices
8. Coordinate math preparation courses, train qualified faculty, and teach as necessary
9. Work with advisors, faculty, and staff on proactive outreach to struggling students
All candidates must have at least a Master's in mathematics or mathematics education, experience directing a mathematics lab, and evidence of exceptional college-level teaching experience including teaching developmental mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, have an educational background that includes math pedagogy, are broadly trained, have experience with the ALEKS software package, and who are knowledgeable about Illinois Teacher Licensure requirements.
