Assistant Professor, P & I Coordinator, Counseling

The Department of Counseling at Bradley University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position to serve as the Practicum and Internship (P/I) Coordinator in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. This is an on campus position with an anticipated start date in Spring 2026. This position bridges academic and clinical excellence by providing leadership for practicum and internship experiences and supporting both the on-campus and national online cohorts. The successful candidate will coordinate field placements, teach graduate counseling courses, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to the professional preparation of culturally responsive and ethically grounded clinical mental health counselors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of practicum and internship placements, including vetting and approving clinical sites, matching students with supervisors, and ensuring alignment with CACREP standards
- Maintain a workload equivalent to 3-3-2
- Provide supervision to practicum and internship students using a multicultural, developmentally attuned framework
- Advise and mentor graduate students on clinical readiness, site expectations, and professional identity development
- Engage in scholarly research, publication, and professional presentations consistent with tenure-track faculty expectations
- Participate in service to the program, department, college, and university, including accreditation and curriculum development efforts
- Uphold a commitment to equity, access, and culturally responsive pedagogy and supervision
- Collaborate across online and campus modalities to support student success and strengthen program-community partnerships
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a non-profit institution by start date, CACREP accredited program preferred
- Licensure or license-eligibility as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) (or equivalent) in Illinois or a reciprocal state. Must hold a professional license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) (or equivalent) prior to position start date. If licensed in another state, must obtain a professional license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) (or equivalent) in the state of Illinois within 90 days of position start date.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision and/or field placement coordination
- University-level teaching experience in counseling or a closely related field
- Familiarity with CACREP standards and accreditation processes
- Commitment to inclusive excellence, cultural humility, and equity-focused teaching and supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with online graduate education and/or remote clinical placement coordination.
- Dual training in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
- Demonstrated expertise in Neurocounseling.
- Experience working with adult learners and mid-career professionals.
- Training or experience in trauma-informed, relational-cultural, or spiritually integrated counseling approaches.
