Appointment: Full-Time: 40 hours per week/12 months
Status: Exempt
Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, invites applications for an Undergraduate Student Academic Advisor serving both the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business. This position will be an on-campus position reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Success: Business & Engineering. The advisor will be part of the engineering and business professional advising team with emphasis on advising on-campus engineering students as well as students enrolled in online undergraduate engineering programs, requiring the ability to work with diverse populations in various learning environments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a strong understanding of academic advising in both traditional and online formats.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Eligibility to work in the United States. (No relocation package or visa sponsorship available.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in academic advisement or other areas of higher education, particularly with online learners.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Advise students on the content and structure of engineering and online undergraduate programs, including graduation and/or transfer requirements.
- Assist students in developing educational goals, selecting courses, and navigating registration; monitor academic progress using appropriate advising tools and systems.
- Support students in both face-to-face and online environments with academic, career, and personal development.
- Participate in on-campus and virtual events to promote Bradley University; assist with orientation programs for both traditional and online students.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records using computer-based systems.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of academic advising through regular assessment and feedback.
- Engage in individual and team professional development, staying current with advising technologies and best practices in both traditional and online education.
