Position Title: IT Project Manager

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: Director of Strategic Initiatives and Projects

Appointment: Full-Time (12 months)

Status: Exempt

The IT Project Manager works closely with IT leadership and project teams to provide project management and support. This may include gathering requirements, building project plans, managing deadlines and workflow, and managing competing priorities. Desired qualifications include experience with project management concepts including agile methodology, expertise with project management tools, previous participation on project teams, and an information technology/systems background. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Projects in Information Technology.

The duties of this position can be summarized as follows:

  1. Initial participation in project planning, management, and implementation activities will transition to independent management of IT and organizational projects and support of institutional projects.
    1. Maintain current knowledge of project management industry best practices
    2. Gather project requirements, identify resources needed, establish outcomes and key results.
    3. Manage projects to schedule and budget, providing project updates to ensure management and stakeholders are informed of project progress.
    4. Identify potential risks and decisions needed to ensure projects are successful.
  1. Obtain Monday.com certification in order to provide primary functional and technical expertise for the Monday.com environment. This includes responsibility for updates and enhancements to the system and determining how new features impact and improve our project management efforts.
    1. Help develop and maintain templates and processes for the PMO
    2. Create Project Boards for unique (non-standard) projects
    3. Provide training materials and support for new users of the environment
    4. Create Dashboards for reporting necessary information
  1. Effectively communicate with functional users, project team members, external partners, and leadership.
  1. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three years’ experience managing projects from planning through post-launch
  • Experience with project initiation including determining requirements, identifying goals, and establishing priorities
  • Knowledge of project management concepts including agile methodology
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with formal change management processes
  • Training and/or certification in project management methodologies and best practices
  • Information technology/systems background
  • Experience managing information technology projects, including successfully leading implementation activities, identifying risks, and effectively communicating with leadership.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working on project teams with internal customers and external partners
  • Expertise with the Monday.com project management environment
