Position Title: Senior Student Fees Advisor

Department: Student Fees

Reports to: Student Finance Manager

Appointment: Full-Time; 40 hours per week/12 months

Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Senior Student Fees Advisor will be responsible for serving the billing needs for Bradley University’s special programs. This position provides daily support to the Student Fees Advisors to drive efficient completion of daily tasks. This individual is tasked with working with multiple departments on campus to guarantee a quality student experience. The Senior Student Fees Advisor is a leadership position reporting directly to the Student Finance Manager.

The Senior Student Fees Advisor needs to have the experience and traits identified below.

Required

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a business-related field.
    • Three years’ work experience in related role will be considered in lieu of business specific bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ethical standards and confidentiality

Preferences

  • Higher Education or Non-Profit experience
  • Previous experience with Student Billing or similar
  • Supervisory experience or team-lead history

  • Strong interpersonal skills for contact with University personnel, students and external constituents

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Student Account Management
    1. Work with students and families to set up payment plans each semester
    2. Lead the process to generate monthly account statements
      • Audit for errors
      • Publish for students and families in a timely manner
    3. Work to invoice and collect 3rd Party Payments
    4. Primary contact for billing questions for our online graduate students
    5. Manage collection of past due accounts for current and past students
      • Engage past due accounts and establish payment plans
      • Process monthly automatic payments on past due accounts
    6. Act as main contact to assist families with questions related to 1098-Ts
  • Financial Reporting
    1. Work with Student Finance Manager to balance daily payment reports
    2. Identify potential students of need and find solutions to help drive retention
    3. Collaborate with various departments on campus to meet different University objectives and changing demands of higher education
  • Communication
    1. Work with Student Finance Manager to establish a comprehensive communication plan for each semester
      • Draft emails, text messages, and website communications
    2. Sit with students and families experiencing hardships to discuss their options to continue with school
    3. Work with Student Finance Manager to develop the student orientation billing presentation and be available to present at student orientation when needed
    4. Establish a working relationship with various departments on campus to drive inter-departmental success
    5. Represent the Student Fees Department on different campus committees as needed
  • Supervision
    1. Act as back up for Student Finance Manager to support the Student Fees Advisors. These advisors handle the day-to-day bill servicing of all on ground and online students.
  • Assist Accounting Department
    1. Pursue and process past due payments from students
    2. Perform regular communication to ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Assist the Financial Aid Office
  • Other duties as assigned
