Key Responsibilities:
- Through partnership with faculty, support the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of online, hybrid, and remote courses.
- Assist faculty in creating and maintaining digital course materials, ensuring quality and adherence to best practices. Provide ongoing support, including quality assurance reviews.
- Ensure all course content is accessible, incorporating universal design principles.
- Provide comprehensive instructional design support to assigned online programs, coordinating all aspects of course design, training, planning, development, documentation, and testing.
- Serve as the point of contact for assigned faculty, addressing and coordinating support for specific issues related to distance education.
- Plan, develop, and lead training sessions on best practices for online and hybrid instruction. Offer guidance on the effective use of e-learning tools and technologies.
- Actively participate in and support campus-wide digital education projects and initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for all digital education tools, LMS features, and third-party educational products, ensuring faculty and students have the necessary support and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other instructional designers, contributing to a dynamic and innovative instructional design team.
- Support the continuous improvement and optimization of internal course development and revision processes.
- Stay informed on the latest trends, theories, and applications in online education and instructional design. Research and integrate new and emerging learning technology tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of Instructional Design theories, principles, and models
- One to two years of experience relative to online course design and development preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, D2L, etc.
- Demonstrated experience of accessible course design and development experience
- Demonstrated experience with e-learning technology tools
- Demonstrated experience with multimedia authoring tools
- Demonstrated project management experience and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple and diverse audiences
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Quality Matters (QM) preferred
