The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bradley University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position can begin as early as January 2025.
Applicants with an earned Ph.D in mechanical engineering by the start date is desired. Preference will be given to candidates in the general area of thermal systems, with strong experimental background including proficiency with digital instrumentation and data acquisition. A specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solar energy or renewable energy. Experience in teaching freshmen, experience in mentoring students, and laboratory expertise will be valuable. Preference will be given to candidates with industrial and/or teaching experience. The successful candidate is expected have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and undergraduate instructional laboratories, and excellent communication skills. A master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field with a plan to complete the degree within 1 year of the start date is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. Must have a willingness to teach online courses.
