This position serves as a member of the Athletics Marketing and Communications staff and reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing, while working in partnership with the entire External Affairs staff in efforts to drive engagement, enhance communications strategies, and generate new revenue digitally.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment to provide effective digital and creative communications coverage for Bradley University’s 15 NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics teams.
- Collaborate with revenue generating offices of Learfield Bradley Sports Properties, Learfield Amplify Ticket Sales, Braves Club, and the ticket office in efforts to drive engagement on digital platforms leading to new revenue.
- Creatively share Bradley Athletics and student-athletes storytelling through video and social media outlets.
- Work in partnership with Associate AD for Marketing to manage the Department’s digital presence with social media applications and marketing initiatives centered on email, social, and website development.
- Primary coverage for select teams.
- Oversee completion of game previews, recaps, features and news stories for distribution via Bradley’s publicity outlets.
- Assist the daily update and maintenance of the Department’s official website.
- Provide home game coverage for selected sports, as well as other events as assigned.
- Liaison to local, regional, and national media covering the assigned sports.
- Maintain and update team statistics and records.
- Provide game day publications to include media notes packages.
- Assist in the supervision of student interns.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Bachelor's degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred. Preference is provided to individuals with at least one year of experience in video, social media, marketing or sports communication. The successful candidate must possess excellent time management, writing, desktop design and social media management skills with video editing and graphic design abilities; Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and NCAA Live Stats / PrestoSports statistical programs required. The ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings is required. Successful candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license.
