The Bradley University Health Services Counseling Center invites applicants for a 9-month 32 hour per week full time counseling position with a multicultural focus. Bradley University seeks to facilitate, build and support interaction, understanding and dialogue among our diverse cultures to foster an intentionally inclusive and accessible campus community. The Counseling Center team plays a vital role in promoting wellbeing and mental health support to our diverse student body. The Counseling Center meets this role by providing mental health assessment and treatment to eligible students at Bradley University in a primary care model at Health Services. The Counseling Center is a division of Bradley University Health Services and works collaboratively with Health Service physicians, nurses, and support staff. Bradley University Health Services is a division of Student Affairs and receives referrals, provides education, and works collaboratively with other departments within the university.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in professional counseling or social work.
  2. Current licensure in the state of Illinois as a counselor or social worker (LCPC/LCSW preferred, will consider LPC)
  3. 3 years of clinical experience, especially with young adult population using a trauma informed care model is preferred.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with all health care providers, faculty, and administrators.
  5. Experience in working with a culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide initial assessments, brief solution focused counseling, and group counseling, with particular emphasis on meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
  2. Provide referrals and work collaboratively with all health care providers within Health Services as needed.
  3. Provide referrals to community mental health providers as needed and to work collaboratively with community mental health and health care providers.
  4. Provide crisis intervention and afterhours emergency on call coverage.
  5. Provide outreach, education, and consultation to the campus community.
  6. Participate in University activities and meetings.
  7. Possess word processing/computer skills adequate to maintain clinical electronic records in accordance with Health Services requirements.
  8. Seek opportunities for clinical growth, maintain all continuing education requirements as required by the state licensing board, and to maintain state licensure.
  9. Adhere to ethical guidelines and policies of Health Services and professional organizations.
  10. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
