Machine Learning Engineer

The Department of Interactive Media at Bradley University seeks a dynamic individual to join our award-winning and nationally ranked department as a Machine Learning Engineer on a government awarded subcontract. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position, working a minimum 30 hours per week and is 100% externally funded, subject to external funding for a maximum of 3 years. Incumbent may work remotely.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years professional development experience working with established companies. The candidate must have extensive experience in computer vision and machine learning. Experience in Augmented Reality development is preferred but not required
A successful candidate should possess experience in:
- Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning concepts
- Developing algorithms for image processing, content-based video/image analysis, object detection, segmentation and tracking
- Machine Learning and Computer Vision libraries, preferably PyTorch / TensorFlow
- Implementing, improving, debugging, and maintaining machine learning models
- Documenting findings and results with supporting statistics for peer discussion and review
- Industry standard programming languages such as Python and C++
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring the scientific literature for innovations that can be adapted for our use cases
- Development of solutions from prototype phase through deployment
- Working closely with a small team to design, code, review and test software features.
The candidate must have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and their applications in software development. Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines, strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent presentation skills are also desired. Experience in research and development of cutting edge technologies, the Unity development platform, is preferred.
Appointment requires a bachelor degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent years of experience and evidence of successful production experience in creative works and/or industry. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
