Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and develop medium voltage motors and generators, including component modeling, design validation, and optimization.
Support traction motor design initiatives by developing detailed CAD models and engineering drawings in Teamcenter or Creo (or equivalent tools).
Perform design calculations and tolerance analysis to ensure performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, simulation, and testing) to resolve design challenges and support prototype builds.
Integrate resistor grids and drivetrain interfaces within the motor system architecture.
Apply CFD or structural analysis principles to improve thermal and mechanical robustness of designs.
Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and design verification activities.
Support root cause analysis, design changes, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 2–3 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience in relevant design roles.
- Strong hands-on experience in electric motor design (medium voltage preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo, NX, or SolidWorks) and Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems.
- Knowledge of CFD, drivetrain design, or structural analysis concepts.
- Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into design solutions.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and technical reporting skills.
