Duties & responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical, thermal, and electrical testing of metals, polymers, composites, and adhesives, ensuring compliance with industry standards, internal specifications, and product drawings.
- Develop, plan, and perform tests to evaluate material properties, aging behavior, and compatibility under different environmental and operating conditions.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to select and validate materials for new and existing products.
- Support material failure analysis and root cause investigations and prepare detailed technical reports summarizing test process, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Research and evaluate new materials and technologies to enhance product performance and sustainability, while supporting continuous improvement.
- Ensure all testing and material handling activities follow established safety protocols, regulatory standards, and internal procedures. Actively promote a safety-first culture by identifying potential hazards and contributing to risk assessments and mitigation plans.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 3 + years of experience in Materials Science
- Experience in materials engineering, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or electronics industries. Experience in applications involving electrification is plus.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of material properties (copper, aluminum, or electronics material), processing methods, and materials testing techniques. Hands on experience with different materials/metallurgical lab equipment.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
