Incubation Team is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Cloud Architect to lead the deployment of large-scale Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Machine Learning (ML) experiments on AWS. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of autonomous systems and engineering decision-making through scalable experimentation frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud-native development, ML pipeline design, and experiment orchestration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Direction
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to the Incubation Team.
- Define and implement scalable strategies for deploying SIL and ML experiments on AWS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align experimentation goals with business objectives.
Experiment Design & Deployment
- Work within company’s proprietary software framework to design and launch experiments.
- Generate autonomy requirements and translate them into actionable experiment designs.
- Develop robust software systems to manage the lifecycle of experiments, including setup, execution, monitoring, and teardown.
ML Pipeline Development
- Build reusable ML pipelines to test various ML techniques and strategies.
- Integrate pipelines with AWS services such as SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, and ECS/EKS.
- Ensure reproducibility, scalability, and performance of ML workflows.
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Architect and implement AWS-based solutions for experiment deployment and management.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Optimize cost, performance, and security of cloud resources.
Data Management & Visualization
- Develop a centralized knowledge base of experiment results.
- Create intuitive dashboards and visualizations to present insights and support engineering decisions.
- Leverage tools like Quick Sight, Grafana, or custom web apps for reporting.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the 1A Data Pipeline, Perception, and Planning Teams to gather and resolve requirements.
- Facilitating integration of experiment results into broader autonomy development efforts.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's/Master's in computer engineering or any relevant engineering degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in cloud-native development, particularly on AWS.
- Strong background in ML/AI experimentation and pipeline development.
- Proficiency in Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with SIL environments and simulation frameworks (e.g., ROS, Gazebo, Carla).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience in autonomous systems or robotics.
- Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Bedrock, etc.).
- Prior experience in building internal platforms or experimentation frameworks.
