The Drivetrain Component Team has design responsibility for parts used across all machines. This role is an Axle Housing Design Engineer in the Drivetrain Castings Component Team. Tasks will be directed by a Senior Engineer on the team and include concept modeling, stress & life analysis, assessing part nonconformance risk, amongst others

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support Senior Engineer by completing design tasks.
• Potential for additional responsibility depending on experience and demonstrated success in the role.
• Concept design and part modeling using Creo.
• Stress & life analysis
• Works closely with Senior Axle Housing Design Engineer
• Interacts with suppliers, supplier development engineers, and internal CAT process partners (Quality, Operations, etc.)

Education & Experience

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Creo Simulate FEA
• Experience in steel or iron casting design
• Practical / hands-on experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
