Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee in-process inspections and final product inspection.
- Ensure the quality of welded and machined components through inspections and analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including management, engineering, and manufacturing.
- Analyze quality data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process performance.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
- 4+ years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong focus on weld and machining processes.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001
- Prior experience with welding and machining & CMM programming and a good understanding of the welding and machining standards, and quality control techniques
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques, including statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies
- In-depth understanding of GD&T and apply principles when conducting inspections is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as quality management software and statistical analysis tools
