Duties& Responsibilities:

  • Develop strength and durability finite element models for analysis and optimization of vehicle structures
  • Post process analysis results and make design recommendations to multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support component, system, and vehicle testing to correlate CAE models
  • Collaborate with suppliers and test vendors to improve the material database and accuracy of CAE models
  • Work closely with the hardware engineering team to understand requirements
  • Participate in requirement reviews
  • Participate in root cause analysis of test failures
  • Prepare the test requirements to validate the designs
  • Participate in Test and Validation and work closely with the validation technicians to run the tests
  • Analyze data and present testing results to the broader team to inform design changes


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in FEA analysis
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics and materials; material characterization experience is a plus
  • Hands-on CAE model development using HyperMesh/ANSA or similar
  • Experience in Linear/Non-Linear, Dynamic, Thermal Analysis etc.
  • Data Analysis experience with MatLab/nCode Glyphworks or similar
