Primary Role

Supervise, coordinate and administer the new water and wastewater system construction programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Interface with developers, developer engineers/contractors, company engineers and operations associates and state/local regulatory bodies to ensure efficient and well coordinated installation of new water and wastewater projects. Review and approve new development plans to ensure the proposed system meets company and regulatory standards. Manage the developer-install and Company-install water and wastewater construction program for new developments. Ensure inspection during construction and that as-built information is recorded and tracked properly. (70%)
  • Research and develop growth opportunities for the company and coordination of those opportunities. Coordinate with business development function and state operating company leadership regarding system growth opportunities. (20%)
  • Implement and foster the coaching and development of employees, including idea generation, within respective functional areas. Supports manger to ensure effective people management policies and practices are developed and implemented (e.g., time and attendance, workforce management, etc.) and ensure resources are developed and deployed appropriately. Continue to reinforce the importance of developing a diverse workforce. Work collaboratively with other functional leads to mitigate business risks. (10%)

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of Engineering principles related to water and wastewater system design and construction.
  • Knowledge of underground construction.
  • Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and the regulations impacting the business as well as applicable regulations, requirements, and trends within water/wastewater business.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures and management theories, practices, and trends.
  • Basic budgeting and utility accounting.

Experience/Education

  • At least four (4) years professional experience in the water/wastewater field with at least two (2) years concentration in utility or land development work preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Construction or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Associates Degree could be considered.
