Our Pekin campus produces products destined for Health, Home& Beauty; Food and Beverage; Industry & Agriculture; Essential Ingredients; and Renewable Fuels markets. All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products, which includes participation in training, following cGMP and feed/food safety requirements in the facility, and following procedures per instruction of management.

Job Purpose: Responsible for the operations of the plant. Monitors and operates process control equipment, including valves, conveyors, dryers, and all other process equipment.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and operate plant equipment. Included but not limited to centrifuge, pumps, conveyors, dryers, exchangers, boilers, turbine generators.
  • Observe gauges, dials, computers and other indicators to ensure process equipment is running properly.
  • Stay current on all required Safety, Zen QMS and IT training
  • Perform lab tests to monitor water and product quality.
  • Receive, mix and transfer process chemicals.
  • Conduct inspections and audits.
  • Perform minor maintenance to ensure all equipment is kept in optimal running condition.
  • Ensure that maximum yields and efficiencies are maintained and to keep the process running as effectively as possible.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant plant.
  • Prepare product for shipment.
  • Load and unload products in trucks and railcars.
  • Assist in inspection of rail tracks.
  • Operate trackmobile, forklift, skid steer and other equipment.
  • Train other employees as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency.

Qualifications:

  • Computer skills; familiarity with operation software.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination; safety cautious.
  • Ability to follow directions, and work well with little supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to safely and effectively coordinate multiple projects/tasks.
  • Must have the ability to work different shifts and overtime.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in cold to hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises; works inside and/or outside;
  • Able to lift, pull, carry, and pick-up average to heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds;
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach;
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Climb and work in high places and/or from ladders, roofs, etc.
  • Work in confined spaces.
