Our Pekin campus produces products destined for Health, Home& Beauty; Food and Beverage; Industry & Agriculture; Essential Ingredients; and Renewable Fuels markets. All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products, which includes participation in training, following cGMP and feed/food safety requirements in the facility, and following procedures per instruction of management.
Job Purpose: Provides support for recruiting, benefits, payroll, employee relations, and other human resources activities.
The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a wide range of duties related to the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports
- Assist in preparation of data for HR audits
- Assists with employee orientations and make sure all new hire paperwork is up to date
- Assist with verification of payroll and time keeping data
- Schedule interviews
- Maintain the Careers page on the company website
- Create and maintain HR reports
- Process weekly hourly payroll as primary backup as needed
- Responds to external requests for information including verification of employment inquiries, unemployment claim requests, wage garnishments and other HR correspondence
- Prepare new hire packets and conduct onboarding
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of office experience required
- Administrative Human Resources experience preferred
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment with numerous interruptions while maintaining professionalism and exercising tact and good judgment
- Working knowledge of general office procedures, methods, and equipment
- Moderate level of experience and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with HR systems such as automated timekeeping, ADP, HR information systems, payroll databases and other computer systems is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and follow through on assignments
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements of this job are consistent with the typical office job. They include long periods of sitting while using a computer and phone. Periodic travel may be required (driving and by plane). Must be able to research information and generate reports and correspondence on the computer; gather and provide information by phone.
