Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.
As a night dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving requests for ambulance and wheelchair service, inputting information into the CAD System, selecting and dispatching the appropriate units to respond to the type of call and maintaining correct system status control.
This position will work a 12-hour shift rotation with three (3) 12-hour shifts one week and four (4) 12-hour shifts the second week, once training has been completed. While in training, you will work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do:
- Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency requests for service
- Determine call the urgency and location of the situation
- Dispatches the appropriate unit to respond to emergency and nonemergency requests for ambulance service based on the type of call and scheduled time
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Relocate, as required, units from one post location to another as designated by the System Status Plan
- Prepare accurate and timely statistical reports and appropriate paperwork
- Follow operations service center policies and procedures
- Assist as needed with the scheduling of field and operations service center personnel

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Dispatch course (Preferred)
- Previous experience as a System Status Controller preferred
- Data entry experience
